A GSGS affiliate is simply someone who buys the Garage Sale Business Kit.  The "affiliates" are in no way affiliated with Grand Slam Garage Sales.  The terms "GSGS affiliate" "affiliate" or "affiliates" only pertains to the fact that the person has purchased the Garage Sale Business Kit.

We recommend getting all of the items for the simple fact that it’s less expensive to purchase everything together than to purchase each component individually. 

However, if your budget only allows you to purchase the Garage Sale Business Kit, exclusive of the other items, it’s still worth getting! So, you’re probably thinking, wait, if I purchase the Garage Sale Business Kit, but can’t afford to get supplies, website, online business tools or anything else, how can I really start the business?  Well, it’s very possible.  The reason we say this is because Grand Slam Garage Sales’ founder and CEO, Ben Weissenstein, did it himself.

When Ben started GSGS, he printed and distributed flyers, got a few jobs, and used his customer’s supplies (tables, etc.). Then, as the company obtained additional jobs and revenue increased, he purchased a website and supplies.

YES, it is definitely still worth buying.  The Grand Slam Garage Sales Houston location mainly did sales within a few neighborhoods in Houston which is only a small part of Houston.  Still, we couldn’t manage to do all the jobs that we got called for.  This was due to a lack of workers and supplies and was happening without even doing lots of advertising.  Word of mouth spread like wildfire.

A garage sale business is just like any other business in the fact that there can be competition.  For example, there isn't just one fast food restaurant or one nail salon or one exterminator in your area... There can be multiple, and everyone can get business.

Competition should not be a reason to not start your business.  The Garage Sale Business Kit has what you need to learn the ins and outs of the garage sale business and it will then be up to you to be creative and work so that you can compete with and hopefully beat your competitors!

No, you cannot use the Grand Slam Garage Sales name or logo on anything including but not limited to marketing materials and legal work. 

If this were a franchise then you would be able to use the GSGS name, but since we decided not to go the franchise route we cannot let you use the Grand Slam Garage Sales name. However, we’re confident that you will be able to come up with a great name for your company!

Your company will be on our website when people look up garage sale businesses in their area, and it will say your company's name.

1. Running a garage sale is a lot of hassle and takes up a lot of time -- time that you could use for something else.
2. If you don’t know how to sell and bargain correctly you won’t have a successful sale in the first place. You will make less money and work a lot harder!
3. Why lift lots of items, bring them outside, clean them off, organize them, advertise for a garage sale, and deal with all of the items leftover afterwards if you don’t have to? Putting on a garage sale is a strenuous event for someone to do and really isn’t fun for many people running the sale. However, GSGS affiliates LOVE RUNNING GARAGE SALES!

Each GSGS affiliate may advertise differently, however many affiliates advertise using signs, a sign holder, email lists, ads on Craigslist.org and Backpage.com, as well as ads on their website and the GSGS website.

FYI: There are a few things that no GSGS affiliates will sell at a garage sale as it is illegal... weapons and hazardous materials.

Put everything in one room in boxes and close together so that the workers can sort through and organize your items easily.  Although, if you can't get everything to a centralized location, don't worry!  And especially don't worry about moving furniture or heavy items!
