The base price includes advertising, setup of the sale, and managing the sale. The price does NOT include the removal of items remaining after the sale is complete. Please see our Clean Sweep Item Removal services for more ways we can help!
How we advertise:
- Place an ad in the local newspaper, on Craigslist.org, and TagSellIt.com.
- Put 4 signs out in strategic locations around the neighborhood.
- Have a strategically placed, LIVE sign holder to attract more customers to the sale.
- Send out an email to a following of people to notify them about each of our sales.
- Post the sales information on our website.
Process before the actual garage sale:
- Step 1: We set up an Inventory Check. A GSGS worker will come to your house to assess the items that you want to sell in the garage sale. Note: Many times we will do the inventory check simply via email or the GSGS website.
- Step 2: We book a garage sale date that works for you!
Garage Sale Process:
- Step 1: We come to your house the Friday before the sale to begin setting up.
- Step 2: On Saturday, uniformed GSGS workers arrive at your house at 6:30 AM to finish setting up and organizing everything that’s going to be sold in the garage sale!
- Step 3: The sale begins at 7:30 AM. Customers can now begin to purchase items. Note: We do NOT accept early birds.
- Step 4: We price all items verbally - not with stickers. The reason for this is so that we can bargain with each customer to get the best price for your treasures.
- Step 5: The workers close down the sale at 12:30 PM. GSGS coordinates with Salvation Army or Purple Heart to get rid of the unsold items.
- Step 6: The workers give you your donation receipt and the money that was made for you at the garage sale!
Note:
- Club/Organization garage sale – must supply at least 5 of their members to help set up and run the sale.
- Temple, Church, Mosque garage sale – must supply at least 10 of their members to help set up and run the sale.
- School garage sale – must supply at 10 of their members to help set up and run the sale (faculty, teachers, students).
Why you should choose GSGS to run your garage sale:
- Uniformed staff with high service standards.
- Very friendly local high school and college students running the sale.
- YOU DO NOTHING because we are a start to finish garage sale service!
